After over a month of almost constant work on my internship applications, the first batch are finally in the mail! Because I was excessively nervous, anxious paranoid, and determined, I insisted on sending them via FedEx this weekend because the post office wasn’t open and one of my sites suggested they’ve had “less trouble” with FedEx. I shelled out what felt like the last of my loot on copies and shipping and have been obsessively checking the location of my envelopes ever since. They’re making their way North-slowly but surely! As long as they arrive by Friday (ok-Thursday night), I’ll be fine. I’ve got another 10 to mail but those deadlines are closer to mid-November. I’m still working on those cover letters and hope to get those in the mail by the end of the week. In the meantime, I’m thankful to have plenty of freelance work to catch up on by Friday. Surprisingly-I’m not my favorite client! I don’t pay well!
In other news, Obie Nugget survived a vet-assisted nail amputation last week. It was really quite the event lugging his large cone-wearing body/head around the neighborhood last week. He repeatedly ran into walls in his drugged stupor and would just continue dragging down the wall-scraping paint and whatever else was in his way! He’s feeling much better and is proud to be cone-free. Bailey’s relieved too-mostly because she was heavily disciplined for her discriminatory behavior against Obie’s temporary disability. She avoided him like the plague!
And on the wedding front-my GOCCO has arrived! I’ll have to go into much greater and longer detail in the near future-probably after I translate the instructions from Japanese but let it be known that I shall be Gocco’ing my way to personalized invitations, coasters, napkins, envelopes, and whatever else I can think of for the wedding! The best part? It’s all DIY which in my case equals DIY+my mama and all the friends I can gather! If I can teach Bailey to paw the Gocco, she’ll join too! In preparation for the GOCCO festivities, I’ve started working on some graphics. Below is my first creation in Illustrator! It’s so much easier to get straight smooth lines that I might use that for the images and Photoshop for the text. Let me know what you think!
